Body Art/Permanent Micropigmentation/ Permanent Body Art/Artistic Micropigmentation...

Entrepreneur Jennette Conners is opening A Tat of Class. A different tattoo experience…  Bringing tattooing to a new level by offering it within a Spa setting, Jennette’s vision of providing a safe and relaxing environment for her client’s has propelled this artist into an exciting art form.

Jennette was working in a brand new tattoo shop in Niagara Falls, Ontario.  Business was starting to pick up, although Jennette always had an ‘uneasy feeling’ while being there. That feeling came true when the tattoo shop was burned to the ground by an arsonist in January of this year.

“This was a tragedy. “ But it is also a lesson and inspiration that she needed to go ahead with a business idea that she had been working on for some time. Scared that something may happen again, she decided not to go back into the 'typical' tattoo type environment.  “It really can be the ‘dark side’ of business, and I want no part of it. There is a market out there for what I am doing. I am going to change the way permanent body art is experienced.”

Tattoos are not as taboo as they used to be.  Some 26 percent of females aged 20-29 have at least 1 tattoo. That is a huge number.  Tattoos do not have the stereotypical associations with them like they used to either.  It is no longer about prisoners, biker gangs or rebels. Tattoos have always been (and always will be) pieces of art or masterpieces from a client’s favourite artist.

Some people who want to get a tattoo but are too intimidated to go to a typical tattoo parlour, just dont go.  Usually, the people working in these places are intimidating as they are covered in ink and piercings and tend to have non-desirable 'music' playing on your nerves as much as the buzz of the tattoo gun. This is fine if you are into it. A lot of tattoo parlours are generally located in less than desirable locations as well, as Jennette found out, and not all play by the rules of the Health board or business etiquette.

Jennette saw the potential for taking tattooing to a different level.  “I want to change the way people (women in particular) are experiencing body art. Opening a body art salon for women (and men) to have their masterpiece created on them, will give them a very special experience, similar to going into a Day Spa. A safe environment and near silent machines, create a very safe and relaxed atmosphere and experience for my clients. With A Tat of Class available to them, parents will have a safe environment for their teenagers to get their Body Art, where as prior, they would have had reservations about this.”

“Permanent body art (or permanent micropigmentation) can be very feminine, sexy and elegant when done correctly.  I love hearing a person's story that goes along with the piece for me to create on them.  Much like I do when I create portraits and other fine art pieces, I feel it from my heart and passion about what I do.  I believe this is what determines a true artist (or a Body Artist) from someone who paints (or tattoos). I do not offer you art ‘off the wall’. I will work with you to create the image that you want, working with my experiences as an illustrator and graphic designer.  This is your self-expression, a deep connection to the images I will create on you.” Jennette will also soon be offering Permanent Makeup services.

A Tat of Class is located in Fort Erie, within the Bridgeburg Spa (109 Niagara St, Fort Erie), and soon to be in Niagara Falls and St Catharines to serve you.

It is not just a tattoo – it is body art.  This is a profession as well as an art form.

Please feel free to visit Jennette's website at www.atatofclass.com.

PORTRAIT ARTIST TO USE A NEW CANVAS - YOUR SKIN!

Yes, you read that right! Jennette is now a tattoo artist.  The owner of a tattoo shop saw her work and had enough faith in her talents, he brought her in to compliment his group of artists in the shop.

Jennette is always up for a challenge, so she took on this one.  To her, 'it is only another paintbrush and canvas'.

Don't worry though. Jennette will keep herself extra busy with her ongoing Graphic Design work, portraits and children's book illustrations.  "I am doing what I have always wanted to do. I love every minute and the diversity of my work."

Please contact Jennette if you have any questions at (905) 341-2101 or art@jennetteconners.com
